Great Yorkshire Show 2007

THE GREAT YORKSHIRE SHOW 2007

THE GRAND OPENING AND CELEBRATIONS OF 150 YEARS OF Y.B.K.A.

Once again the weather played its part with three lovely days at this great Harrogate showground event 2007 presenting a resounding success for the Y A.S. and for the Y.B.K.A.

Thanks to our association member volunteers for all their effort in making the 150th year of the forming of the Y.B.K.A., along with the grand opening of the new pavilion extension a grand occasion. The immediate past president of Y.B.K.A .Lt. Col. Martin Young gave the opening address to the crowds gathered outside. Among the dignitaries present was Lady Henrietta Burridge who dedicated the opening with the planting of a small tree outside the pavilion. Also present was Y.B.K.A. President Lord Guisborough, along with Mr Bill Cowling (honorary show director), Chris Hall and Nigel Pulling from the Y.A.S and an army of associate members gathered together with the Y.B.K.A. committee members. A special mention must also be made to Michael Badger M.B.E. for all the hard work he put in to organising this event and Mrs. Vera Rider - past secretary of the Y.B.K.A., whose effort and dedication in fund raising made the pavilion extension happen.

Finally a big thank you to the whole family of Warfedale Beekeeper Mr Alan L. Thompson, who made, decorated and delivered the cake that was cut and shared among the gathered crowd of dignitaries' and supporters. Here looking forward to seeing you all again next year.
